Hotel Aak

Hotel Aak is located in the heart of the Romsdalen valley, close to several spectacular experiences and attractions. Down in the valley, the river Rauma flows, while in the height, famous peaks such as the Romsdalshorn towers to a height of 1555 metres.

At the end of the 19th century, British tourists and climbers started climbing and exploring the peaks of Romsdalen. While out adventuring, these mountaineering-pioneers often stayed at Hotel Aak. Mountaineering still plays a central role in Romsdalen – in fact, Åndalsnes is named the mountaineering capital of Norway.

Experience the iconic Trollstigen on an electric bike. Feel your heart beating as you bike through the trollish roadcurves with local guides from Hotel Aak. Hotel Aak provides memorable trips whether you want to experience Romsdalseggen up close, or climb Store Vengetind.

The unique atmosphere also accompanies you into the hotel room. The small hotel has 33 beds in 16 rooms. Three of the rooms are located in the old part of the hotel and have a view directly towards the mountains. Here you can lower your shoulders and enjoy the comfort with a historic touch. In addition, the hotel has a new extension with modern rooms. 

The food is local, home made and follows the Norwegian trends. Clean, simple and seasonal. A rustic gourmet in big portions. The food is served by the long table in the old historical dining room, where all the guests sit together.
