Owned and operated by Bondeungdomslaget i Oslo (BUL), the profits from the hotel’s operations have always been dedicated to funding voluntary initiatives in theater, music, dance, sports, and children’s activities—a tradition that continues to this day.

Hotell Bondeheimen was founded at a time when young people from rural areas flocked to cities to build their futures. The cultural divide between urban and rural life was significant, and BUL sought to provide a safe and welcoming environment for rural youth in the capital. Their vision was to unite young people in fellowship and collaboration, grounded in Norwegian culture and tradition.
