Art, Nature, and Tranquility at Lysebu

Combine a relaxing stay at Lysebu with a visit to the Roseslottet - The Rose Castle!

Lysebu is ideally located in Holmenkollen, surrounded by nature and tranquility, making it the perfect place for relaxation and reflection. With Nordmarka just outside your door and Oslo city center only a short drive away, it’s a place where you can recharge while immersing yourself in an important part of our shared history.

The Rose Castle is a large outdoor art installation that tells the story of the Nazi occupation of Norway during World War II and the values at stake. Through powerful paintings and symbolically charged installations, you’ll encounter both well-known and forgotten stories: daily life during the war, the resistance movement, the persecution of the Jews, and the fates of wartime sailors and prisoners.

Created by brothers Vebjørn and Eimund Sand, this artistic experience has received international recognition, including being named one of TIME Magazine’s "World’s Greatest Places." Located at Frognerseteren, it also offers stunning panoramic views of Oslo, further enhancing the impression of both art and nature.
