A dog sledding adventure in the breathtaking nature of Finnmark

Dog sledding is a central part of Trasti & Trine's identity. The year begins and ends with the Finnmarksløpet, Europe's longest dog sledding race, which starts and finishes in Alta, making it a hub for dog sledding. This has transformed dog sledding into more than just a sport in Alta; it is a part of the local culture.

Dog sledding is a passion shared between mother, Trine, and daughter, Hanna, as well as the guides who work for them. Everyone has experience with dog sledding races, including guides, and both Trine and Hanna have completed the Iditarod and Finnmarksløpet. The dogs in their team are incredible athletes, but they also love taking guests on trips into the mountains, where they experience unparalleled freedom.

The huskies are, in many ways, the living, breathing members of their family. The dog yard is an extension of their home, and they always ensure that their dogs are well-fed, happy, and healthy before prioritizing anything else. For guests joining them in the dog yard, they always make sure they learn how to take care of the dogs, and if they wish, they can be responsible for their own team. The dogs are chosen to match the guests, ensuring that both parties can enjoy the best possible experience and fully immerse themselves in the joys of dog sledding through the Arctic wilderness.
